Updated! Budapest Winter 2013/14 baby and kids activities in English

After a lazy summer in terms of putting new content on the website I have quickly checked around to update you on the English programmes still running in town for babies and toddlers from September.

• The Budapest Moms playgroup is continuing on Wednesdays between 10am and 12.30pm.

Address: 6th district, Andrassy ut 98. (The building of Magnet Bank) Nearest station is Kodaly Korond of the M1 metro or bus 105 . With strollers best to walk up on Andrassy ut from Oktogon towards Heroes Sq. The Play room is located on the half floor and is accessible only by a flight of 10 stairs on a wide staircase. Strollers can be left safely on the ground floor by the reception area. Ask for GYEREKSZOBA if you can’t find it. Price: 750 HUF for 1 kid, in case of siblings – 500 HUF per child. We need a minimum of 6 moms to keep this price.

• Budapest Moms Baby Club  with First Med - FREE baby club every Friday from 10 am to 12 pm organized by FirstMed and held by Budapest Moms Founder, Reka Morvay who is  a psychologist, doula, and a lactation consultant. It’s open to moms with babies unto 18 mts and pregnant women. Reka can offer breastfeeding advice and answer questions regarding baby’s feeding, sleeping and other concerns. If you’re pregnant and have questions about having a baby in Hungary, she’d be glad to answer. The group is a great way to meet other moms and socialize. The group is completely informal, just show up whenever you can, no need to check in.  NEW LOCATION: Address: The Forum, 1088 Krúdy Gyula u. 14. The Forum buzzer. Nearest stop is either Kalvin ter metro or 32-esek Tere stop of 4/6 tram and walk in. THIS GROUP IS CANCELED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE due to Reka’s relocation to the US.

• Baby Yoga Group with Venusz Vidak - On Thursdays from 10.00 o’clock  an extremely nice and friendly-group of moms get together with their little ones in Apple Tree Daycare - they do yoga- for the babies and for the moms too- baby exercises to help body coordination and gross motor skills and lots of singing. These activities are aimed at children from 0-2 years. 1000 Huf per session. Venusz holds bachelor degrees in nursery and preschool education and is also a certified infant massage and yoga instructor and has worked at different international preschools for 17 years. Contact: venusvidak@gmail.com Baby massage courses for parents private or small classes could be also arranged either at Apple Tree on Mondays or in your home. • Monkey Business run by Krisztina Gaal holds several movement classes for different age groups from 6mth to 3.5 years on Thursday mornings in its Buda location held in the gym of the A-Z International Kindergarten in 12th district Zsolna utca. Free trial class after that signing up for a series of 8 weeks. krisztina@monkeybusiness.hu

• Rhyme Time - Budapest Mom2Mom Sale organiser Barbara Petri will start a regular weekly singing class from ages 5mts to 5 years from January 2014 at the SóbanJó Gyerekműhely playhouse, in a special saltroom. First class: 6th of January, every Monday afternoon at 5 pm. Address: 13th district, Göncöl utca 81. nearest metro Gyongyosi utca on M3, entry is 1600 HUF, including 30 min sing-along program in the salt room and 30 min playtime in the playroom. Registartion is necessary, moms can email Barbi on dallosbarbara@gmail.com

• Playgroup at Apple Tree Kindergarten in Buda – English language playgroup for children from 1 year old. 2 hours of fun – singing, playing in the gymnasium of Apple Tree. When:  every Monday from 10.00 am till 12.00 pm. 2500 HUF per session. Address: 1026 Budapest, Trombitás út 11. • Dramaworks – English language theatre school in Budapest offers classes in Acting and Music Theatre for all ages. All classes are taught in English by professional teachers who are passionate about theatre. • Dance Craze Academy – Dancing, ballet, performing arts for different ages. Located in Pest, 8th district off the korut by 32-esek tere 1088 Budapest, Krúdy Gy. u 15 Fszt 3.
• RolliPolli – gymnastics, ballet, judo, karate, baby gym class. Billingual English- Hungarian Wednesdays. some classes are in English only. Address: Budapest – 1126, Orbánhegyi út 5.
