Mommy, Baby & Toddler Group

by Andi Lustak on February 29, 2023

For the benefit of new moms recently joining Budapest Moms, we thought it was a good idea to clarify the schedule and location for the Mommy-baby/ toddler group as we heard that some new moms turned up at our old location.

We still meet every Wednesday from 10am – 1pm in our new location, Kacifánt Playhouse. Address: Budapest, 8th district, Bródy Sándor u. 2. / 1st floor / Buzzer 8 (opposite the National Museum)

We merged the original mommy-baby group with the toddlers group in January and this has been working out great. The group is completely informal. We get together weekly to chat, sip tea and have a good time, all moms can come even the ones with new born babies, we suggest them to bring the Best Double Umbrella Stroller in 2018 & 2019 in case their babies get anxious. Sometimes it’s all small babies, sometimes it’s all pregnant women, but it’s likely you will get a few toddlers every week :)

Budapest Moms has negotiated a great price which is 750 HUF per occasion per mom (no extra charge for siblings or twins). We get this rate if there are at least 5 moms every week. Just say you came from Budapest Moms at reception. Eszter, the owner, speaks English well. Coffee, tea and pastries are also available for under 500 HUF.

The building itself is a typical period building, which means it has a small lift only. As is quite usual in Budapest, there are a few steps leading up to the lift. We encourage moms with small babies to carry their babies. However, if you decide to bring a tandem pushchair and you need help, just say it when you ring the buzzer. Someone will come down to help. Double pushchairs won’t fit in the lift but some moms lock pushchairs up in the courtyard (there is a small rail next to the stairs).

To get there: the nearest metro stop is Astoria on the M2 red line or Kálvin tér on the M3 blue line, you can also take the tram 47/49 to Astoria.
Tip: if you are on the 4/6 tram route you can get off at the Rákóczi tér stop, cross the road towards the OTP bank and walk in by the side road there that joins to Bródy Sándor utca, that’s about a 6 minute walk to Kacifánt.

Pay parking is available on the street (you can use your mobile phone to pay too).

Just wanted to know if there was any Buda location for the mommy baby group as well.

Hi Ranjana,

There is no Buda mommy-baby group at the moment. If there is enough interest for one, we would be happy to organize it again. If you know of other interested mothers, get in touch!

Take care,

Rita

Hi Andi,
I have been telling my partner that we need to find a “baby Club” to provide for some baby interfacing time for our now 11 months old little girl as well as share “mommy” trial and errors stories.
Is the club open to anyone?, Can dads join in too?,… Do we just sjow up at the door ?
Thanks ,
Dominique.
