Cheap and Cheerful Christmas Ideas - Gift Wrap
I’m not a crafty mom. I’m the opposite of amazing, crafty moms like Mama Pea Pod. But once in a while I get inspired and a spurt of creativity hits. Here is an example of one of those spurts:
I’m a big fan of reusing wrapping paper, and not buying new rolls every year. But we’re running low this year, so instead of buying brand new gift wrap, my 3.5 y.o. helped me make some. I went to the ‘papír-írószer bolt’ (stationary shop) and found a package of brown ‘csomagoló papír’ (packaging paper) and paid 280 Ft. for half the package. Deal! Then at home I went through the crafts drawer and took out finger paints, water paints, crayons, glitter, basically anything I could find. I spread the paper on the table so it covered it completely and let her creative Christmas juices flow. Now Nagymama (Grandma) will be getting gifts wrapped in handmade and extremely cute wrapping paper. Actually, the paper will probably be more exciting than the gift itself. I’m thinking we should open a stand at the Christmas market… 😉

This paper turned out great! And aren’t you sweet with the plug, thank you! I know for a fact that there are a LOT of crafty Budapest Moms out there! (I can see at least 3 I know of right there in the fb box on the right!)
